Goa Tourism

Goa is one of our favourite destinations. Being close to Pune, where I live, Goa is just a 6.5 hours drive by road. The Goa Tourism department have ensured there are beautiful roads and the beauty of the trees on both sides of the road is always encouraging for a long drive!

Goa tourism handles 12% of all foreign tourists who arrive in India. That's quite a figure. Goa is famous for its beautiful beaches, churches and temples. Major tourist attractions include: Bom Jesus Basilica and Fort Aguada, a Wax Museum on Indian culture and a heritage museum, of which were recently added.

Apart from the beautiful, clean beaches, Goa tourism also consists of Wild-life sanctuaries, National Parks, Bird Watching tours, etc. There's plenty of activities for everyone!

If you are visiting Goa, don't miss the Wednesday Flee Market at Anjuna Beach. That's one place where all the tourists are headed on Wednesdays and its a sight to see! You will get all kinds of stuff and women find it as the best shopping destination in Goa !

Similarly, there's also the Mid-Night Market at Arpora on every Saturday. Goa tourism department have been very co-operative to allow such a huge event to become successful, especially because its at night and Indian laws are usually against events happening after 11 pm. But, the Arpora Mid-Night market is something to look for on your Goa visit. There's music, there's food, beverages, dance, performance, shopping live sushi counters and everything you would expect in a tourist destination!

Indeed, Goa brings out the party spirits in all those who visit it!
